Teacher Training

For nine months participants commit to developing the art and skills of a yoga teacher; attending regular classes, readings, papers, developing one's personal practice, meditation and participating in a small group who share a love for the path of yoga.

Asana, Ethics, Anatomy, Philosophy and Art of Teaching form the core of the program. Through precise alignment of B.K.S. Iyengar yoga and small group instruction with senior teacher Naomi Bendiner, students have the opportunity to develop a solid foundation on which personal inspiration can guide.

Upon successful completion of the program, students become eligible for Yoga Alliance's National Yoga Teachers Registry at the RYT 200 hr. level and receive certification from Devi Yoga.

Devi Yoga Teachers Association

With (almost) three years of Devi Yoga Teachers graduating from Devi Yoga Teachers Training Program, we have now become a community. In January 2005 we launched the Devi Yoga Teachers Association. This is a very exciting way that Devi graduates can stay connected, keep learning, support lineage and develop sangha. It is my hope that this association will be a thriving center which meets the needs of yoga teachers in many ways: providing community; supporting current and future Devi yoga teachers; giving back to the community; maintaining ethics and education; assuring that graduates of Devi Yoga Teachers Training maintain highest possible level of instruction and training.

The fee for Association Membership will be $50 per year due January 30. It will include renewal of Devi Certification and assure that continuing education requirements have been met. Benefits will include discount rates on workshops, specially designed advance studies workshops developed with direct input from association member teachers, opportunity to participate in karma yoga days and graduation celebration for new teachers. Your input on what you would like to see as part of the association would be greatly appreciated.
